How to Feel the Way You Want to Feel

"Feelings are everywhere - so be gentle."

That quote makes it sound as though you can choose your feelings and as though you can choose to be gentle with them.  That quote makes it sound as though you can choose how to feel about others around you - including your spouse or love  - and even that you can choose how you feel about yourself.

So what is going on here...just where did you get this awesome power?

You've Got the Power

The good news is that the power lies within you - yes it does.  And amazingly it has always been there.  Maybe you did not realize it until just now.  But no matter.  Now you know.  Now you've got the power.  Now you know you've got the power.

So What Will it Be?

How do you want to feel right this minute?  Think about a great feeling.  This is your time to make it come alive. Then go there now.  Close your eyes and picture yourself there. Ahhhhhh. Sweet.

Where is it?  Are you at the beach, in the mountains, spooning with your spouse, in a sunny field with wildflowers, in the city with bustling night life, dancing, playing with your dog, cuddling with your children?  You decide how you want to feel right now and then pick the images and the sights and the sounds and the smells that will take you there.   Take it all in.  Don't miss anything...absorb it all.  Enjoy it all.

Per chance ....are you on a sandy beach, with a bright blue umbrella nearby to the right, feel the sun tan lotion on your skin, smell the lotion - sort of a vanilla aroma, with gentle lapping waves ahead on the emerald green seas, with palm trees swaying gently in the breeze, and seagulls squawking and darting here and there?  Does that work for you? You decide.  Pick your own magical place.  You are in charge.  This is one time that you get to be fully in charge.

Go There Now

Take a 60-second vacation and go to that magical place - your magical place.  Go ahead and give it a try. After all, you've got nothing to lose but your current feeling.

This is how to feel the way you want to feel.  You simply go there to your magical place.

On demand.

Anytime.

If you can do it for 60 seconds, you can do it anytime and anywhere.  Just not while your driving, please.

You can decide right now how you feel. And because you can decide for yourself, why would you not decide, of all the emotions swirling around out there, to be happy? You can be and will be happy when you alone decide that you will be happy.

Talk about an awesome power! So what are you waiting for? What is standing in your way? What problems lie in your path?  What relationhsip issues are you wrestling with? What is holding you back?  What is blocking you?

Get rid of all of it - for 60 little seconds.  You can do it. Why not make it a personal development goal to do this at least once a day this week?

Whenever you want to -- guide your emotions there to sense the energy and feel the vivacious joy. You"ve got the power to find your joy now!  To feel the way you want to feel.
